Trouble has befallen a 29-year-old enrolled nurse who is currently in Police custody at Mbarara for obtaining money by false pretence and corruption.

Identified as Maurice Kempeta the 29 year old nurse at Kagongi Health centre in Kashari North is alleged to have solicited for a bribe of worth 2.5 million shillings from a one Samson Nareeba a resident of Rubaare town council in Ntungamo district promising to help him secure a job with Mbarara district local government.

Samson Kasasira the Rwizi regional police spokesperson told Howee.Biz that Kempeta assured Nareeba of how she had talked to the chairperson of the district service commission Deo Tumuhairwe and that he had agreed to secure the job.

However, after handing her the money, Nareeba waited for feedback but in vain. Sadly, he did not even appear on the list of the successful candidates.

According to the victim, he sold a piece of land in Rubaare town council - Ntungamo district to raise the money he gave Kempeta.

Benson Baingana Mbarara District Senior Human Resource Officer says that the arrest of Kempeta is timely as some employees of the district have been soliciting money from job applicants.
