A 27-year-old woman Jackeline Nakku will spend 20 years at Luzira Prison after the High Court in Mukono found her guilty for the murder of her husband.
Justice Susan Okalanyi convicted Nakku, a resident of Nabuti in Mukono Central Division for murdering Eric Kiddu Ssenyonjo.
Agnes Kiconco the state prosecutor told court that on February 14th 2018, Nakku murdered Ssenyonjo a former employee of Hotel Africana at their marital home in Nabuuti village.
Prosecution told court that on the fateful day, Ssenyonjo’s body was found in a pool of blood in the bedroom with two severe wounds on the head caused by an iron bar.
Nakku had accused the deceased of having an affair with an employee of Umeme.
According to Justice Okalanyi, circumstantial evidence produced in court indicated that Nakku killed her husband and later rushed to the neighbours pleading for help claiming that they had been attacked by three armed robbers.
The investigating officers also failed to trace and verify an incident of robbery on the day Ssenyonjo died.
