The police in Kawempe have arrested a man for beating his own daughter to death.
The suspect is identified as Alex Ssebuliba a resident of Jinjakalori in Kawempe division, Kampala.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson says the suspect came back home from his brick laying job and found that his daughter had not done homework.
He beat her up leaving fellow residents scared. This forced them to report at Kawempe police station, prompting the child and family protection unit officers to arrest the suspect.
The child was rushed to kawempe mulago hospital on Tuesday evening for treatment, but succumbed to the wounds on Wednesday morning.
“We are charging Ssebuliba with murder, although he says he had not intended to kill the kid but wanted to punish her for failure to do homework” Onyango said.
He advised parents to stop beating up children like animals, but to find a better way to punish them for any wrongs.
