The Police in Kabale have launched an investigation into the death of a 65 year old woman who was knocked by a motorcycle. 

Elly Maate the Kigezi regional Police spokesperson says the accident occurred on Monday 29/6/2020 at around 11am, at Hakashenyi sacco within Mayengo along Katuna Kabale highway.

According to Maate, a motorcycle Reg no UER 120L bajaj boxer knocked two pedestrians crossing the road. One of the victims identified as Murungi Peace of Mukarangye cell/ Ward Katuna town council died moments later from Kabale referral hospital where she had been rushed. 

Meanwhile, the second victim and the rider were also injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment, but later discharged. They have been identified as Nuwahabwe Gift 23, resident of Nyinamuronzi cell/Ward Katuna town council and Kasigwa Gerald 31, resident of Murandamo cell Butanda Sub County.

Maate told Howwebiz that police visited the scene and inquiries to establish the likely cause of accident, ongoing.
