Six suspects are in Police custody following the murder of a 47-year-old man.
The deceased is Alex Omodo, a resident of Angorom village in Sikuda sub-county in Busia district. His neck was cut on Wednesday night and body dumped along the road in the neighboring Makina B village in Busitema sub-county.
According to Moses Kakiryo the Busia District Police Commander, preliminary investigations indicate that Omodo was attacked while drinking at a bar, about 3000 meters from his home.
He was reportedly beat into coma and his hands tied with ropes before the assailants took him to Makina B village where they cut his neck leaving his lifeless body in a pool of blood.
His body was found by residents on Thursday morning.
Kakiryo identifies the six as; Joseph Auku and his brother Steven Ochoko, both children of the deceased, Emmanuel Okware and Yoweri Etyanga, all residents of Angorom village in Sikuda sub-county are the prime suspects in the murder.
However, Steven Ochoko has denied any involvement in the murder of their father. The deceased’s body was conveyed to Busia health center IV pending postmortem.
