One person is in police custody following the murder of a 45-year-old man in Luwero District. The deceased has been identified as Ronald Mutebi a resident of Wabusana trading center in Kikyusa sub-county who succumbed to injuries he sustained during a fight in a bar.
According to Robert Wasswa the LCI Chairperson of Wabusana village, the incident happened on Monday when Mutebi developed a misunderstanding with James Miiro at Maaso Bar resulting in a fight.
Miiro allegedly hit Mutebi with a stick on the head and collapsed in the compound and the victim was immediately rushed to Wabusana Health Center III for treatment but he succumbed to injuries.
The Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson Isah Ssemwogerere says Police at Kikyusa town council picked up Miiro over the incident.
The deceased’s body has been transferred to Luwero hospital for postmortem as investigations into the matter go on.
Meanwhile revelers and the owner of the bar identified as Christine Nalugo who were at the scene when the incident happened have all gone into hiding for fear of being arrested over the incident.
