The police in Ayivu West division, Arua City are hunting for unknown assailants who are suspected to have raped an unidentified woman before killing her.
The victim who is estimated to be in her 30s was raped, and murdered and her body dumped in Komite Cell, Pokea ward, Ayivu division, Arua City.
SP Angucia Josephine PRO West Nile says the incident happened in the night of 08th June 2022 at an unknown time and the body was found in the morning of 09th June 2022.
Police officers were called to the scene where they retrieved the body and conveyed it to Arua Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
According to the scene of crime officers, one of the victim’s arms was y was broken and the body had signs of rape.
Angucia says investigations into the matter have kicked off so as to establish the truth of the matter and to apprehend the perpetrators.
She appealed to members of the public to share the information widely so as to identify the deceased and to establish details of the suspects.
