Police at Nansana have arrested two suspects for killing a nine-year-old boy and dumping his body in a septic tank.
The deceased, Bukenya Imran, disappeared on July 09, 2022 from home while his pregnant mother was away to Mulago hospital to give birth to his sister.
After over three weeks of searching for the deceased, his lifeless body was finally found by police on Tuesday following a tip-off from locals. The decomposing body had been dumped in a septic tank at the residence of one Ssemaganyi Eria in Nansana, Wakiso District.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy police spokesperson says Police at Wamala received information that an unidentified body was seen floating in the septic tank at Eria's house.
He further explains that Police responded with Fire Prevention and rescue services who retrieved the body alongside a 20-liter jerrican with Kerosene.
Owoyesigyire, says they suspect that the kerosene had beeen poured into the septic tank to cover up the scent of the decomposing body. The body of the deceased child was later identified by the mother.
He adds that Eria and another suspect identified as Ssalongo Bweseri have been arrested and detained at Nansana main station to help with the investigations.
The body was later conveyed to the city mortuary Mulago for Postmortem as investigations continue.
