The opposition Democratic Party, DP has added its voice to their FDC counterparts to advocate for the release of former presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye.
Dr. Besigye is facing treason matters in Luzira Maximum prison over a video that was released a day to the swearing in ceremony of President Museveni.
In the video, Besigye is seen being sworn in by some female lawyer in company of several FDC leaders who have also since been asked to make statements at the special investigations unit.
Now, DP publicist Kenneth Paul Kakande says government should release all political prisoners, and include political players in finding ways to end security problems that are being faced by the country at the moment.
“This is a situation that requires all Ugandans, all stake holders to put their hands on the table and find a lasting solution for our country, Kakande said.
He added that; “All people being arrested and incarcerated because of the political opinion in the way this country should be governed should be released forthwith, starting with Dr. Kiiza Besigye.”
