Selena Gomez has seemingly apologized for joining in on the Justin Bieber-Belieber drama last night (Aug. 15).
The pop singer took to Snapchat to leave an apology that many Beliebers and Selenators are assuming is in reference to comments she left on the Canadian singer’s Instagram following Bieber’s threat to delete his account, which he has since followed through on.
“What I said was selfish and pointless,” wrote Gomez.
The artist was referring to comments fans found on Bieber’s post that was captioned with “I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand. If you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.” Bieber’s comment section filled with disappointed fans on Sunday (Aug. 14) after the pop singer posted photos of him and rumored girlfriend Sofia Richie.
Gomez reportedly commented on the post defending Beliebers--“If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting picture of your girlfriend lol –it should be special between you two only/ Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you. They were there for you before anyone.”
Bieber and Gomez went back and forth with comments, both making claims the other had cheated during their Jelena relationship. The Canadian singer eventually deleted his Instagram account.
