One of the biggest artists group in East Africa that will make their debut this year is none other than The Kansoul, who will be pairing up with the Mozambican songstress Lizha James.
During the 18th August 2016 Nairobi Coke Studio Africa press conference held at the Sarova Stanley Hotel, the Kansoul and Lizha could not express enough the amount of fun they had working together. Madtraxx further praised Coca-Cola for the flagship of African music, stating, “Many people don’t understand what Coke Studio Africa is trying to do. Coke is more than just a drink, and this show is more than the music - it’s a movement and a lifestyle” Having just released the track “Utamu Wa Life”, 2016 will clearly be a big year for the group.
Madtraxx from the group will take part this season as not only an artist, but also a producer, tasked with producing for Radio and Weasel, Eddy Kenzo and Ghana’s BET Award winner Stonebwoy. Despite being a producer himself, Madtraxx was able to relinquish that role, letting Uganda’s Bushingtone to produce their collaboration with Lizha James.
The Kenyan-based afro pop and genge group is known for their songs Moto wa Kuotea Mbali, Mabega, Tunakubali and Nyongwa, which they got to perform during The Blankets and Wine Kampala, December 2015.
Watch out for The Kansoul on Coke Studio.
