The organisers of local entertainment Awards are receiving a lot of negative vibe from the artistes and the general public. The HiPipo awards that opened up this year were baptised ‘Bebe cool’ awards after he won five awards. Bebe cool was put on pressure and he withdrew from all local awards. Sheeba and Bebe cool bashed the Club Music Videos awards accusing them of lack of credibility, however, Zzina awards remain the only awards that keep people’s hopes alive in the music industry.
The highly anticipated fourth edition of Zzina Awards is scheduled for Friday 7th at Theatre Labonita and here are a few things you should expect.
There will be crazy live band performances by Sheeba Karungi, B2C, Ykee Benda, Rabadaba, Naira ALI, Vamposs, Maurice Kirya and comedian Madrat and Chiko. The event will kick off at 6 pm with a red carpet experience. Napoleone and Prim from Galaxy Fm's Evening Rush will be the night’s host.
18 artistes will walk away with awards from 20 categories that have been listed. The best Sports personality award will go to Onyango of the Uganda cranes and legendary artiste award to Maddox Ssematimba. These two categories are not for voting.
The graphical expression of votes per category will be displayed on giant screens to clearly show how free and fair the awards are.
Lastly, all the winners and fans will be treated to a funky party at plaza building based Club Amnesia where they will party until the wee hours of the Saturday morning.
