After Radio and Television Academy was incorporated in Uganda in 2010 to the encouragement, recognition and promotion of excellence in Uganda broadcasting and Audio production through the Radio and Television Awards. Everyone in the media was feeling excited that one day, he/she will be recognised. But this has not been the case with up-country TV and Radio personalities!!
Radio & TV Academy Kept on recognising only talents from Kampala and failed to award talents in the North, East and West . This seems to change now.
Information we have, Western Uganda is yet to have its own media awards tagged ‘Western Media Awards’ scheduled for 13th, December this year. Organized by an NGO based in Kampala calles Light Touch Films, these awards aim towards rewarding outstanding media personalities in Western Uganda.
This is a big step to Westerners because they think...all the best Radio and Tv personalities in Kampala were groomed in West. Lets see where this ends.
