The former president of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) Sophie Gombya has hinted at plans of starting up a counselling centre for artists.
She believes just like any other human being, musicians go through a lot of challenges and it is important for them to seek help from professional counsellors.
Sophia Gombya believes this will limit the cases of drug abuse and addiction which continue to eat up musicians.
"I believe professional counsellors can offer help to many artists in the industry. Let's develop a culture of seeking help when we are going through challenges, instead of locking up ourselves in our houses. I hope to open a centre that will offer a safe space for everyone in need of help," she said.
Sophie Gombya will be doing so in partnership with the Uganda Counsellors Association where she is a member.
