Nigerian singer and songwriter Burna Boy, renowned for his multiple awards, has achieved a significant milestone by overtaking Tanzania's Diamond Platnumz as the most streamed artist on YouTube in Sub-Saharan Africa.
For an extended period, Chibu Dangote, widely known as Diamond Platnumz, held the top spot for YouTube views, but this reign has now come to an end.
Burna Boy currently reigns as the YouTube King with an impressive 2,252,124,206 views and counting, surpassing Diamond's 2,246,395,673 views and counting. Burna Boy made his YouTube debut on January 13, 2018, while Platnumz joined the platform on June 12, 2012.
Nonetheless, Diamond Platnumz retains the distinction of having the highest number of subscribers among artists in Sub-Saharan Africa, boasting more than 7.98 million subscribers. In comparison, Burna Boy has accumulated over 4.13 million subscribers.
Claiming the third spot on the list is Nigerian superstar Wizkid, whose videos have garnered at least 1.76 billion views.
The King of Lingala and Rhumba, Fally Ipupa, secures the fourth position on the list with 1.50 billion views, while Nigerian sensation Davido follows closely at number 5 with 1.40 billion views.
