Musician Jackie Chandiru suffered from drug addiction for years and almost lost her career after spending a significant amount of time in the hospital.
The singer, however, is now fully recovered and actively participating in campaigns aimed at preventing and controlling drug addiction among the youth.
This week, Chandiru also visited the Speaker of Parliament, Annet Anita Among, and the two engaged in a lengthy discussion about the use and dangers of drug addiction.
She also expressed gratitude to the Parliament for passing the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Bill, 2023, which permits the licensed farming and medical use of marijuana under strict regulations.
