On Tuesday morning, Azawi went to her X handle and deleted everything critical of the government.
This move received a lot of backlash from her fans and followers, who pointed their guns at her bosses at Swangz Avenue for deleting the post.
However, Azawi later clarified that she hasn't given up on the struggle for freedom and justice. She personally deleted the post because unscrupulous people were using it against her maliciously.
"You guys, wagwan. I want to clarify that I personally deleted my post because I have full control over my X handle, and trust me, I didn't do it to please those doing this country faulty. I can never give such cowards that satisfaction. I realized that some individuals intended to misuse my voice for malicious purposes, and I do not want to give them that opportunity. However, this does not mean that my stance on 'Abakamuzi' has changed. I firmly believe that the voices of our country's youths need to be heard and respected, and our leaders must be accountable to the people they serve. It remains my sincere hope that we can achieve this. I apologize to those that I made feel like I had quit our fight and course. It wasn't my intention; we are still in this together, and one day we shall be heard," a statement released on her X handle read.
Azawi apologized to her followers and revealed that the youths will eventually win.
