Musician Ibrahim Mayanja was a very vocal supporter of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni during the 2021 general elections.
He, however, left disappointed and criticized the NRM over empty promises. He has since distanced himself from anything related to the National Resistance Movement.
The singer, who is aspiring for Nansana Municipality, says he can never perform at an NRM event.
He explained that performing for the NRM is forbidden according to his personal principles and understanding of life.
"Music is my job, but I create my own rules. I can’t sing at an NRM function. Performing at an NRM event for money is forbidden, and I will never do it," he explained in an interview with Sanyuka Television.
