Legendary comedian Amooti will be celebrating twenty-five years in Ugandan comedy on December 13.
However, he revealed that he hasn’t earned much money from comedy due to the government’s failure to enforce copyright laws.
“There is no copyright law, so I haven’t gained much from comedy. However, I’ve come to terms with it. I make people happy, and if I’m lucky, someone books me,” he explained.
Amooti added that he currently survives thanks to promoters who occasionally book him for performances.
His anniversary celebration will take place at UMA Showgrounds in Lugogo, Kampala.
