Uganda's music legend Jose Chameleone is not happy with the Uganda National Musicians Federation and its leaders over disrespectful actions.
Chameleone explained that Kenzo and his federation could have been kind enough to send a representative to pick him up from the airport when he landed over the weekend.
It would show unity and solidarity among the artists. Chameleone says he is a founding member of the federation and it would have been good if they had stood with him.
"I am not happy with the UNMF for one or two reasons. I left here when I was really down, and the whole country prayed for my recovery, and I recovered. I am among the people who started that federation. I was ashamed that they didn't show up at the airport. I feel pain that not even a representative was sent, yet they always say we are united," he explained during a performance in Kampala.
The Leone Island boss asked Kenzo and his cabinet to do better next time if indeed they are focused on the artists' cause and unity.
"I want the message to reach the President of the federation and his cabinet. I am not demanding respect, but we should be humans. Treat all the artists the same. Why favor a few and leave out others?" he added.
Chameleone, however, remains grateful for the fans who showed him love and support that day.
"However, I am a full federation; I came alone, and I will rise again. I thank you, my people, who supported me and continue to do so," he said.
Chameleone spent four months in the USA receiving medical treatment. He returned to the country on Saturday.
