Last Week Capital Breakfast Show popularly known as the Big Breakfast had a heated debate concerning Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director Jennifer Musisi’s salary, to the amusement of listeners.
The debate was ignited over a discussion on how people should claim for salary raises and how they should start out in employment. While the main crew of Marcus, Jackie and Oulanyah thought it was fine for Musisi to earn what she currently earns, News Anchor Sam Ayo preferred that Musisi’s salary should have been tied to her performance in office.
Citing his own example, Sam Ayo said he never earned what he currently earns when he first joined Capital Radio. He said salaries must be tied to how someone performs and increased progressively as they continue to perform.
Marcus and Jackie could have none of that. Marcus said people should be paid what they asked for and Musisi should not be blamed for stating her terms and being given what she asked for.The debate ended unresolved. [via MONDAY TIMES]
