Eleven years in the making, Chicago’s Henhouse Prowlers have built a reputation for hard work and non-stop touring, playing music inspired by the roots of bluegrass while branching out into a sound uniquely their own. From lightning fast picking, to sentimental ballads—playing storied original material, traditional songs, and contemporary covers—The Prowlers’ live show leaves no one wanting.
We landed on a video by Henhouse Prowlers during a live acoustic performance singing Eddy Kenzo's Sitya Loss. It sounds unrealistic, but nothing was more unrealistic than a former street boy winning the first ever BET Award for East Africa.
The Band mastered all the lyrics from Eddy Kenzo's song and totally owned. I've never seen a popular band singing to any of our songs before, this is the first time, and of course because it's awesome, it starts with Kenzo.
When Kenzo's song went viral, a number of YouTubers created their own versions of the Sitya Loss video ... but this is more, it a band from Chicago that has been doing good music for the past 11 years. They took their time to learn lyrics of a song in a language they probably had never heard of ... all this because the song is awesome.
I don't know what more reason we could be waiting for to declare Kenzo as Uganda's most popular musician on the planet.
Enjoy!
