Tom Mayanja, popularly known as ‘The Mith,’ broke onto the Ugandan hip hop scene back in 1999 as a member of Klear Kut. And he has since been releasing music at his own pace.

The rapper believes Ugandans are slowly starting to love local music unlike in the past.

They support artists by buying their music online which was very difficult like 10 years ago. They also attend concerts and  shows organised by the singers.

"Ugandans continue to  support the industry. Musicians wouldn't be as many as we are now if it wasn't for the love of fans. They have actually started buying music. This was so hard in the past," he said.

The Mith released his album days back and he says Ugandans streaming it in big numbers.
