The Uganda National Promoters Federation, under their federation, has impeached their member Abbey Musinguzi, also known as Abtex, for organizing a concert on the same day as Balaam Barugahara.
In a long impeachment letter from the Compliance Regulations and Licensing Office dated June 24, 2023, Robert Twizire, aka Nobat Events, on behalf of others, criticized Abtex for his actions as the interim president of the UNPF.
The statement from the compliance regulations and licensing committee of the Uganda National Promoters Federation reads,
"On behalf of the compliance regulations and licensing committee of the Uganda National Promoters Federation, considering a number of concerns raised by fellow promoters who attended a four-day retreat at A Lure Hotel and Suites in Mutundwe, Kampala, we have come to a conclusion that you're unfit and unable to perform the functions of the federation president because of the dishonorable act you displayed during the short tenure as the interim president of the federation."
Abitex is being faulted for violating the rules and regulations of the UNPF by organizing a music concert for Alien Skin on the same date as Balaam Barugahara's 'Love Fest' concert, which he had spearheaded on behalf of musician Pallaso. Abitex is accused of dishonesty, lack of respect for fellow promoters, and failure to adhere to the UNPF guidelines outlined in their memorandum of understanding.
Promoter Abitex has not yet provided his side of the story regarding the sudden developments in the promoters' association.
