Musician Jackie Chandiru has little respect for Ugandan musicians.
Chandiru, a member of the defunct Blu*3, says musicians are no longer taking time to create music. They rush to release songs that will last for only one month.
She explained that back then, musicians went to the studio to create magic, and their art took time because they aimed for perfection.
"I personally think right now it's about getting a hit in the bar. It's not about taking time to release serious music. Our songs still sound fresh because we were creating the best. Everything was perfect, and the competition was about good music unlike today." she partly said in an interview with a local television.
Jackie Chandiru also blamed the media for prioritizing mediocre work as long as it pays the bills. They trash good music for rubbish just because they are paid to play.
