Months ago, Azawi expressed disappointment in a section of Ugandan artists for whom she has written songs and who chose to discard them.
Among them is Carol Nantongo, who says she was never impressed with the song. She and her management decided to put it on hold but plan to release it in the future.
Nantongo explained the song never resonated with her at the moment and she felt it needed more work and a different approach to bring it to life.
"I was never impressed because the song I released earlier didn't work and Azawi's song almost sounded the same. I still have it and, with time, it will be released, but I think it needs some more work," she said in part during an interview with a local television station.
Azawi's writing skills have been recognized, and she has worked with notable artists including Eddy Kenzo, Vinka, Sheebah Karungi, and Jazmine, among others.
