Musician Bebe Cool released his annual "Bebe Cool List" on January 1, 2025, featuring the top artists of the past year.
Elijah Kitaka claimed the top spot with his hit single Dawa, a chart-topping track since its release in early 2024. Bebe Cool praised Kitaka’s potential to conquer African audiences, crediting Swangz Avenue for supporting his growth.
"Swangz Avenue struck gold with Elijah Kitaka. His talent, style, and connection with the youth make him a standout artist," Bebe Cool noted, emphasizing Kitaka’s impressive character as a solid foundation for his career.
Azawi also earned a top position for her song Masanvu. Bebe Cool commended her consistent delivery of hits, calling her "a force to be reckoned with" and lauding Swangz Avenue for nurturing her talent.
Other featured artists included Mudra, Acidic Vokoz, Wilson Bugembe, Alien Skin, Rema, David Lutalo, and Joshua Baraka, among others.
Bebe Cool urged Ugandan artists to adopt international sounds like Afrobeats to expand their reach and transcend local boundaries. "To achieve global recognition, Ugandan artists must embrace genres with international appeal and aim for broader audiences," he stated.
