Musician Lil Pazo is up in arms, taking a stand against the National Unity Platform (NUP) and its president, Bobi Wine.
The singer, who has been a supporter of the National Unity Platform, faced backlash over the weekend after performing at an NRM event in Mubende.
In response to the criticism, Lil Pazo accused Bobi Wine of selfishness and claimed that the party never supported him during his Enkudi Festival at Aero Beach.
"NUP members are very selfish, starting from their leaders. They are also very discriminative. They refused to support me and didn’t even rally fans to attend my show, yet they openly supported King Saha without hesitation. I have to make decisions for my own good, and I will perform for the NRM and President Museveni because they pay me," he explained in a video circulating on social media.
Lil Pazo further criticized Bobi Wine for his focus on politics, accusing NUP, its leader, and its supporters of destroying the Ugandan music industry.
"You have ruined the music industry through politicking, always mixing politics into everything. Music is my job, and I perform to earn a living. You’ve made people hate artists for no valid reason, just because they perform at NRM events. Meanwhile, you don’t pay them to perform at NUP rallies. We are fed up," he expressed in another video.
Lil Pazo’s stance echoes sentiments shared by fellow artist Eddy Kenzo, who has long accused Bobi Wine of politicizing the music industry and its related activities.
