Popular hip hop artist Mun G last weekend overcame the hitch of KCCA cancelling his VIP show at Kati Kati grounds to rake in sell-out crowds in his subsequent shows at Satellite Beach in Mukono and KKBeach in Ggaba. The 2015 Buzz Teeniez Award Male artist of the year saw capacity crowds at his “Byayanga” concerts that were sponsored by Africell Telecom.
Mun G who was initially supposed to start off his launch with a VIP show at Kati Kati picked massive crowds in Mukono on Saturday evening. Accompanied by other artists like Naava Gray who curtain raised to the enthusiastic Mukono crowd that included his mother, wife, mother inlaw, Mun G stormed the stage at mid night and for the next one hour took the enchanting crowd through his songs before finally closing the night with popular hit Byayanga at 3am.
While in Ggaba on Sunday, crowds started thronging the Africell branded venue from as early as 10am and by 5pm it was capacity crowd. Curtain raisers at the Sunday event included Captain Dollar of the “Emesse” fame and other little known artists who did little to wow the crowd before Mun G stormed the stage at 11pm to take the crowd through one hour of hits closing the show at slightly past mid night.
Mun G also took time to hit at KCCA and Jennifer Musisi. He told the crowds “You are proof that something can never be deflated. Thank you for turning up in large numbers to support me. That lady and KCCA wanted us out but am glad you have proven them wrong. That’s the reason am here in Mukono with you people because KCCA doesn’t want me in Kampala”. Mun G thanked Africell for sponsoring his concerts with every entry ticket coming with an Africell simcard and loads of goodies including merchandise and phones were given away during the concerts.
