Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Uganda’s leading opposition party has launched a "Free my Vote, Stay home” campaign that is based on the method of BOYCOTT.
The officials from the party held a press meeting today Monday at their party offices in Najjanankumbi where they advised their supporters to boycott activities by Mr Yoweri Museveni and those of musicians deemed to be sympathetic to NRM.
The party spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda also instructed the supporters not to show up for work on Thursday as part of their defiance campaign.
“Starting this Thursday we will not be going to work every Thursday of the week and we call upon all Ugandans who voted for [Dr Kizza] Besigye to stay home that day. The home imprisonment will be in protest of the detention of Dr Besigye,” Ssemujju said.
It should be noted that Besigye, has not been allowed to leave his Kasangati home since 19th February, a day after Ugandans went to polls to elect a new president with security citing that he was planning to cause disruption to the peace loving Ugandans.
