There’s a heavy police deployment in the areas of Masaka after unknown thugs have attacked Kabonera trading centre in Masaka district and hacked two people dead.

The thugs left three other residents injured and in critical condition.
Lameck Kigozi, the regional police spokesperson said the attack happened the wee hours of Tuesday when the unknown people broke into Geoffrey Kirabira’s shop. The businessman deals in burning CDs, and operates a slot Machine. According to Kigozi, the assailants whose motive was to steal managed to cut the machine and take all the coins in it.
They then moved on to Kulabako Ibrahim a known businessman in the area, who was cut, and later declared dead at the hospital.
The other deceased is Mujjumba Godfrey who tried to rescue those that were under attack. Mujjumba who lives across one of the attacked houses was crossing the road, when assailants intercepted and cut him to death in the middle of the road.
“The alarm sounded by those attacked attracted people in the neighborhood to come to their rescue, but the attackers were very organized. There’s one Mujjumba Godfrey staying across the road, who came to the rescue, but they did not give him a chance. They got him in the middle of the road, cut him there and killed him instantly” Kigozi told Howwe.biz.
