The Secretary General of the National Unity Platform, David Lewis Rubongoya, has confirmed that Sentamu Churchill, the son of Chairman Nyanzi, is no longer a member of NUP.

Rubongoya explained that Sentamu lost his membership automatically when he chose to run as an independent candidate against the party's choice.

Rubongoya says every person must follow the rules, and whoever goes against the party's decision, runs against its candidate, will lose membership.

"He lost his membership in the National Unity Platform. Contesting independently automatically makes you lose your membership, and that's it," Rubongoya said during a discussion on the X platform.

Sentamu Churchill, the current Makerere University Guild President, is facing criticism from different NUP supporters following his meeting with President Yoweri Museveni.
