Police has launched investigations into the murder of Sheikh Issa Wampongo, a duat teacher at Yusra Primary School in Nakaloke, Mbale district who has been found dead a day after he was reportedly picked up from his home by yet to be identified people.
The body of Sheikh Wampongo, was this morning found lying in a stream in Kachumbala in Bukedea district.
Sheikh Wampongo, also a Masters student at Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), was allegedly picked up by unidentified people from his home in Nakaloke town council on Monday night.
According to Suleiman Luutu Wandera, the director of Yusra Primary School, Sheikh Wampongo will be buried today in Nakaloke.
Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima will hold a press conference this afternoon to address the matter and give full details of the incident.
