Inspector General of police, Gen. Kare Kayihura has promoted former parliament OC, SP Nyiramahoro Anabera to Divisional Commander Parliament police. This was contained in the IGP’s letter, dated today Tuesday February 13th 2018.
Nyiramahoro became famous during the Age limit debate when she blocked a then newly elected Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine from accessing the house with a red ribbon.
Despite all the “I am doing my job explanation,” Nyiramahoro’s actions were seen by many as a move to bully the musician cum, MP.
She has since earned herself a good name in the books of the IGP, who seems to reward all those that toughen up against such opposing members.
Her promotion is according to the IGP, pursuant to Section 6(a) of the police Act Cap 303.
Others who have been affected by the reshuffle are AIGP Isabirye Haruna who moves from the directorate of welfare and production. He is now Director Human resource development (HRD) Haruna holds a masters in security studies from national defense college Nairobi, Kenya.
Also, AIGP Twinomugisha Lemmy has been transferred from Parliamentary police and appointed director welfare and production, replacing Haruna.
The Deputy IGP has since been instructed to oversee the immediate handing and taking over.
