Insecurity in the country is of great concern according to the opposition in Parliament, who are petitioning the Speaker to recall the house from recess in order to find a solution to the worrying security situation in the country.

Winifred Kiiza, the Kasese woman MP, and Leader of Opposition in Parliament faults the government for failing to address insecurity challenges in the country adding that institutions that are mandated to protect Ugandans are not doing their job.

LOP says the house needs to consider how to deal with the numerous security groupings that have become a time bomb for the country. She names Crime Preventers, Internal Security Organization, External Security Organization, The Police, Informers and groups like Bodaboda 2010 which she says are made up of 'redundant persons with militia mentality'.

Rules of procedure, Parliament can be recalled from recess through a request made in writing by at least one-third of all Members of Parliament to the Speaker.

Now, along with other opposition MPs, Kiiza was addressing a press conference in she they expressed dismay at the deteriorating security of the country. The statement comes a few days after the kidnap and murder of Suzan Magara, an accountant attached to Bwendero Dairy Farm (BDF).
