The police in Kakumiro are hunting for unknown people who strangled a Boda boda rider to death.
Kakumiro District Police Commander, Najibu Waiswa identified the deceased as 20-year-old Julius Ssebaduka, a Boda boda rider and resident of Kanyawa cell in Kakumiro town council in Kakumiro district.
Preliminary reports indicate that the assailants hired Ssebaduka to take them to unknown place on Tuesday evening, but strangled him along the way and dumped his body along the Kakumiro-Mubende road, a few kilometers from Kakumiro town where it was found this morning.
The thugs also made off with his motorcycle registration number UEW 226L Bajaj boxer.
Waiswa says they have launched investigations into the gruesome murder but warned the Boda Boda fraternity in the District to be security conscious and avoid traveling during night hours.
The body was handed over to Kakumiro hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
