There is panic at Kiruddu Hospital in Makindye after a patient, who had been admitted committed suicide.
Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson identified the deceased as Faustine Musinzi, from Gomba District who jumped from the eighth floor on Thursday at around 8 pm and fell on the concrete dying instantly.
It remains unclear what could have triggered Musinzi to commit suicide, but other patients say he had been experiencing a lot of pain.
The Police from Kampala South Regional headquarters at Katwe were called, rushed to hospital and removed the body amidst cries from other patients and caretakers.
Hospital staff and patients were caught by surprise as they thought the deceased was moving around the stairs perhaps to gain some energy.
Musinzi's body was picked by police and taken to City morgue for a post-mortem.
