The Police have shot and killed another thug in Kasangati division and arrested nine others, a day after shooting another robber dead.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson narrates that on Thursday, the Officer in- Charge of Manyangwa, Dan Mpadde responded to a distress call from Wilbert Twinamatsiko who reported that thugs had raided his home armed with a gun, pangas and other lethal weapons.
Onyango adds that Mpadde and his team responded, monitored and analyzed the situation within the location and the home, and later noticed one of the thugs at home holding an SMG rifle but seemed to be guarding his colleagues who were inside looting.
However, when the gunman noticed the officers, he started firing bullets towards them and exchange of gunfire between the thugs and Police ensued, leading to the death of the thug.
The other thugs who were inside the house looting fled the scene without any property. According to Onyango, the deceased suspect had no identification papers, and his body was taken to City mortuary Mulago for post-mortem.
Detectives visited the scene, recorded statements from witnesses and recovered cartridges for analysis. Investigations into the incident are on-going to trace for the thugs to have them arrested.
The development comes just a day after Police shot and killed a notorious robber in Kasangati Town Council, identified as Jamil Muwonge aka South Pole.
Muwonge was part of a criminal gang that was terrorizing people in and around Kasaganti areas.
