The Police in Nansana is investigating a suicide by hanging of Alsat Nantume, 12, that is believed to have happened on Monday morning at around 10:30am in Gganda-Nansana Municipality Wakiso District.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson says the deceased’s body was found hanging on a rope in the aunt's house, whom she was staying with.
Police officers were called to the scene and cut down the body which was later conveyed to City Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem as investigations to what led to her death go on.
Several children have in the past few week committed suicide. The police reports that many be practicing what they watch in movies.
