In the year 2017, musician Irene Ntale quit Swangz Avenue to pursue a solo career. At the time, the singer expressed frustration towards the label, though she didn't reveal the reasons for quitting.

The Swangz Avenue boss and co-director, Benon Mugumbya, says he felt a lot of pain when Ntale left the label and that it's something which hurt him the most. The legendary producer regards Ntale as one of the most gifted artists and believes they would have achieved much success together.

"We were very hurt when Irene Ntale left Swangz Avenue. She is a very talented person and one of the most gifted Ugandan artists. We could have done more together with her," he explained in an interview with a local television station.

Mugumbya also says he still doesn't know the reason why Ntale quit the label. "I actually don't know the reason why she left Swangz Avenue," he added.

Irene Ntale performed extremely well when still under Swangz Avenue. However, she has since been struggling musically despite receiving bookings for her excellent live band performances.
