A man suspected to be connected to the murder of 14-year-old- girl in Lwengo is counting his blessings after police officers rescued him from an angry mob that attempted to lynch him.

The deceased, Monica Namusanya a resident of Ndegeya village in Kisekka sub-county in Lwengo district went missing on Sunday last week.

Efforts by her parents and concerned community members to find her went in vain, until Wednesday when her headless body was discovered in a swamp in Kyamaganda village in the Kisekka sub-county.

David Ssekajjugo and Josephine Namutebi the deceased's parents then pointed fingers at Jimmy Ssekajjugo who is also a family member for masterminding the murder of their daughter.

Residents say the two brothers have had a longstanding enmity, with serious accusations of witchcraft.

Things took a new twist when on Wednesday shortly discovering the teenager's body, an angry mob stormed Sekajjugo's home and slashed his banana plantation while others looted his animals and property.
