Four people are dead and three others are fighting for their lives, following an early morning accident along Mbale-Tororo Road adjacent to Mbale City Bus park.
The accident occurred when a speeding Fuso Truck registration number, UAQ 094W lost control and rammed into two Boda boda cyclists killing them instantly before knocking a pick up belonging to Mbale district local government registration number UBE 669Q.
The pickup also rammed into two people seated along the road side killing them instantly. One of the deceased has been identified as Tayibu Bugolo, the Chairperson of Malaba Stage.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police spokesperson, they were yet to receive all details about the incident especially the identities of the three other people who died and those in the hospital.
The chairperson of Park Cell, Umar Wamala attributed the accident to the narrow road, and the buses that park along the road causing a lot of jam.
