The Ministry of Health has clarified that all vaccines, for COVID-19 and other diseases across the country are administered for free and no one is supposed to be paying for them.
The revelation was made by Dr. Diana Atwine the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, while responding to the comments of Hudu Hussein the Kampala Resident City Commissioner, who said that by next year, those who will have not received the COVID19 vaccine will have to pay for them.
However, Dr. Diana urged all Ugandans to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
“We are seeing the trend of disinfection. The countries that had earlier epidemic are getting again the surge of this infection. But what is significantly evident is that although they are recording many people who are sick, they have recorded much less cases that require hospitalization” Dr. Diana says.
She noted that the reason they are calling for people to vaccinate as soon as possible, is because when infection comes, it finds when the bodies are prepared and they don’t have to suffer severe disease.
The PS added that for those who have not vaccinated may face it rough when they get infected.
