The Police in Pallisa has in its custody ten suspects of arson and malicious damage following the murder of one Omodoi David.
According to ASP Alaso Immaculate the PRO Bukedi North Region, it is alleged the deceased was assaulted by Richard ojangole, Okurut David, and another person only identified as Olinga at Nabitende trading centre.
The incident happened on 7th February and at around 2300hrs, the deceased reported the case of assault at Kamuge Police Post.
He was issued with police form 3 but on his way home, he became unconscious and was unable to move until the morning of 8th February 2022 when he was picked and taken to Pallisa General hospital where he died before receiving any treatment.
However, upon receiving the news of his death, Omodoi’s relatives became violent and attacked the family of Ojangole the father of one suspect identified only as Richard, burnt some grass-thatched houses, and damaged the permanent houses.
Police are hunting for the three men who assaulted Omodoi, while the ten people who participated in the arson are already in custody.
Alaso cautioned members of the public against involving in any acts of mob action.
