One person has been killed following an accident involving a bus Reg. no UBB785H belonging to Perfect Company and a motorcycle Reg. no UEH 532B Bajaj boxer ridden by Tumwesigye Joshua, a 47-year-old resident of Mutojo cell Kebisoni town council, in Rukungiri district.
The accident occurred today 14/02/2022 at about 07:00am on Monday morning at Mukatindo Rwabingangura along Rukungiri Ntungamo road when the bus that was being driven by Nuwamanya John, a resident of Kinonya cell Masanafu Kampala knocked Tumwesigye and he died on spot.
It's alleged that the driver of the bus was following the motorcycle rider from behind, and when the rider tried to cross from left to right, he was knocked down.
Ip Elly Maate PRO Kigezi says the bus driver has been detained while the deceased’s body was taken to Rwakabengo H/ centre III for postmortem.
The bus has been impounded at Buyanja police station pending iov inspection while the motorcycle was not recovered at the scene of the accident.
