Police in Napak has arrested a man who allegedly strangled his two sons with an intent to kill them.
The victims are Epeu Luis 11 years and Eselu Emmanuel 9 years both sons of Epeu Richard 29 years, resident of Alilioi village, Moru-inera Parish, Orungo Subcounty, in Amuria District.
It is alleged that Epeu strangled his two biological children using a wire and dropped them at Alekilek village, Iriiri Parish, Iriiri sub-county in Napak District on the Night of 20/2/2022 at an unknown time.
According to AIP Longole Mike Ag. PRO Mt. Moroto, one of the children was found by Babu Ali Emmaali a resident of Iriiri Trading Centre who was coming from a business trip in Katakwii at Night.
Babu says he heard a voice of a child crying for help near the road.
He then picked the child and took him to Iriiri health centre for treatment before reporting the matter to Iriiri Police station.
Longole says the child identified himself as Epeu Luis and narrated how his father strangled dumping them at the location where he was found using unknown Taxi.
Meanwhile, Eselu Emmanuel was later found at Olilim under the care of a good Samaritan who found him along the road at Olilim trading and took him to a private clinic for treatment.
Epeu Richard was tracked by Police and arrested at Nakatunya in Soroti.
He has since been transferred to Napak Central Police station where he has been charged with the attempted murder of his children.
The motive of the crime is yet to be established.
