Two drown, three rescued from Lake Victoria waters

The Police in Mukono is investigating an incident of drowning that happened on Sunday 10/04/2022 at about 8pm in Mpatta sub-county Mawotto landing site.

The Police in Mukono is investigating an incident of drowning that happened on Sunday 10/04/2022 at about 8pm in Mpatta sub-county Mawotto landing site.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire the PRO KMP, it is alleged that the boat carrying matooke, cassava and five people left Luziru on Koome Island Lake Victoria waters headed to Mawotto landing site.
However, along the way to Mawotto, it capsized and two people drowned while three were rescued. 

The survivors have been identified by only one name as Bosco, Bwire and Kalimbwe, while those that drowned were also identified with one name as Kenneth and Martin
Owoyesigyire says full particulars of both the survivors and the deceased persons are yet to be established.

All bodies of the deceased persons were retrieved yesterday 11.04.2022 by Marine Police and later conveyed to the city mortuary Mulago.
Investigations into the incident are underway.
