The Police in Busoga East are investigating circumstances under which a 24-year-old man Umar Muzungu was killed during a party organized at his house located in Buwologoma village, Nabukalu sub county of Bugiri district.
The incident happened on Tuesday night when Muzungu alongside his three other friends hired a music system and invited a section of village members to join their trans night party.
However, the host reportedly developed misunderstandings with his friends at around 4:00am, prompting one of them to hit him with a glass bottle on the forehead and he died instantly.
The deceased's body has been taken to Bugiri general hospital's mortuary, awaiting postmortem.
According to Ismael Buyinza the L.C.1 chairperson of Buwologoma village, he alerted the police after receiving a brief about the fatal fight at the party.
Geoffrey Kakaire, the Nabukalu L.C.3 chairperson says that due to increasing levels of unemployment, most youths have become drug addicts, which is contributing to the increase in criminality within their area.
Diana Nandawula the Busoga East police spokesperson says they have dispatched a team of detectives to mount a search for three prime suspects still at large.
