The opposition Democratic Party, DP has congratulated Ugandans upon successfully concluding the Lenten period.
During the weekly presser in Kampala this morning, Hon. Fred Mukasa Mbidde, the party vice president said Lent has been a period of high prospects in terms of atonement.
He added; “It is lamentable that even the highly contested 18/02/2016 election occurred during the Lenten season! It means there are traits who never concentrated on to the core meaning in terms of words and deeds to benefit from the same.
Mbidde then passed on the Easter message saying; “DP wishes all Ugandans the best throughout this Holy Week and the Easter festivities. The party implores the citizenry to have lessons from Jesus’ suffering and death.”
He urged Ugandans to first carry the cross of dictatorship before enjoying the Easter eats and drinks.
Christians will this week commemorate the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ from Holy Thursday, to Easer Monday.
