Two FDC officials, the women league leader Ingrid Turinawe and the Makerere University LCV councilor were this morning arrested as they attempted to MATCH ON Jinja road.
According to reports from FDC, Turinawe, and Nyanjura arrested and bundled in the notorious Noah UAT 018Q before being whisked away to an unknown place.
The two iron ladies led a group of party members who had turned up at the court in an illegal march as they prayed for Besigye’s release. They were allegedly marching to the city centre
They were protesting failure by the prisons authority to deliver him to Nakawa Magistrates’ court, citing security reasons. The DPP’s team asked chief Magistrate James Eremye to carry on with Besigye’s case at Luzira court since it is a long distance driving him to Nakawa.
However, FDC officials saw this as a sabotage of justice and said they want their leader to appear before Nakawa magistrates’ court which is easily accessible to party members and well wishers that may want to attend.
Chief Magistrate Eremye adjourned the court to June 15th.
According to eyewitnesses, the two ladies were pepper sprayed and driven toward jinja road.
